About the Opportunity
Currently, Solid Rock Steel is looking for Project Managers with varying levels of experience, to join our team on a full-time basis, overseeing local projects from our office in Surrey, BC.
As our new Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of assigned contracts, working closely with your team members to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing all elements of the project including but not limited to; detailing, material purchasing, fabrication, coatings, deliveries, cranes, safety, manlifts, and site installation
- Supervising Project Change Orders: management, pricing, execution, acceptance & collection
- Ensuring that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule & budget
- Coordinating with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track
- Delegating & monitor project tasks based on colleagues’ strengths, workload, skill sets & experience levels
- Meeting with project team members to identify and resolve issues
- Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards
- Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information
- Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution
- Identifying and developing new opportunities with clients
- Managing customer satisfaction
- Conducting post project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements
- Providing guidance, mentorship, and training to junior members of the team
About You
In order to qualify for the Junior, Intermediate, or Senior Project Manager role, you must have at least 3 to 8+ years experience managing steel fabricating or steel detailing projects with structural steel and miscellaneous metals, ranging from $500K to $2M contracts.
Candidates with structural engineering background, and some post-secondary education, PMP designation, will be considered an asset but not required.
In addition, a detailing certificate or equivalent (Tekla, Advanced Steel, etc), is highly valued but not a requirement. You will spend 10% of your time doing site visits in the lower mainland, so you must have a valid driver's license to perform these duties.
As Solid Rock Steel's Project Manager, you are the lead liaison for the clients and crew and as such, must possess immaculate customer service skills to clearly draw the lines of communication. You are personable, approachable, decisive, positive, and knows how to assess and mitigate risk while managing competing deadlines.
